I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Hooooo boy. Life = unexpected

I didn't want to date anyone...I don't have the time, nor the patience...but fate has a funny way of dealing you some of those cards that you just don't see coming.

So it all started when I went out to dinner with ~CrescentBunny, and she mentioned Zach, one of my best friends in HS that I haven't seen in FORVEVER. This sparked me to ask if he was around, and if maybe we could see if he wanted to hang out, blah blah. Long story short....a few weeks pass, and we've hung out nearly everyday...and the secret floodgate of 'I've always liked you' opened up, and now I find myself with an unexpected, but very welcome boyfriend.

I can't even begin to describe how unreal it feels. <3

But anyway - to save this journal from becoming a sap fest -

Next convention for me is Ikki con!
Costumes so far...not too many....I had so many planned...but then money was like 'NO! I AM A LOAN! NOT THE LOTTERY!' so things got cut back to pretty much ONE new costume.....sad huh? but whatever....I have other costumes that need more love, so I'm not vexed.

New one : Dee Dee from Dexters Lab/Fusion Fall with them cool twin kidz. I'm so dang excited for this.

Oldies: Sailor Venus, possibly Mamimi, School Kairi, Dazzler, Wonderland Twins...wow...I can't think right now...lol. But I guess that's the just of it? Was gonna do Edea, but that's most likely not happening...no funds, no time. I'll just wear something random when those kids do their FF crap and take pictures.

I can't WAIT for break...I'm ready for this speeding locomotive to make a temporary stop so I can get off for a bit.
