Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Well, the day finally came to where I got to move into my new apartment with my two best friends!

It was incredibly exhausting....we were carrying heavy furniture and boxes up and down stairs over the course of three days.... -falls down dead- I woke up this morning, and headed down the hall barely breaking the speed of smell because my legs were so incredibly sore from all the lifting and going up and down stairs.. BUH.

But we're FINALLY done, and everything's starting to shape up. This apartment is SO much nicer than the dump I came from - so clean, neat, and pretty. It's just a nicer quality place, and for only a tiny bit more than what I was paying before. Vaulted ceilings are love.

I could go on for days on how much nicer everything is, and yadda yadda, but I'll save you the trouble of reading. Just know I'm super happy with the situation and it wont be changing for a lonnnnng long time. I refuse to move any of this crap anytime soon. Haha. We may be having a apt warming party that may turn out being Harry Potter themed, thanks to the most epic scene in Yes!Man... (If you've seen it, the part where he goes to his boss's HP party..lol)

But anyway - once I get fully unpacked (Only 2 boxes to go!) I can go back to working on costumes, hooray! There's a LOT more space here, so that should be a breeze. Being holed up in a small room isn't the best condition for crafty crafts. Once again - SO glad to be out of there....that situation was just...awful. Not going into detail on that though, because I fancy myself mature now and then, and keep private issues how they should be kept - private.

So anyway, moving on with life - I applied for a job at Old Navy, wish me luck! I need a job so bad. xD
If I don't get that one - I may apply at Michaels....we'll see.

So who all is going to AnimeFEST and bringing what? What are you guys' plans? What's the dealio? What's the 411? TELL MEEEEE. xD

I'm actually about 1/2 way through the 2nd one right now (I forgot how much more annoying Lockhart is in the books, lol) and I'm working my way up! Hooray for the series still being good after the millionth re-read.
